As an Analytics Engineer, you will drive insights for HBO Max and discovery+ streaming businesses  through development of reporting solutions, complex data analyses, and data visualization-related efforts for the Business Intelligence & Analytics team at Warner Bros. Discovery Streaming. You not only understand the complexities of utilizing big data but are also able to formulate and communicate a clear, insightful recommendation for an executive audience and operating level business managers and decision makers. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to plan and execute high-visibility projects, while ensuring excellence in data quality, that will be used by the wider Warner Bros. Discovery Streaming team to drive business strategy.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Rapidly develop executive-level reports that support high priority initiatives including streaming product launches and major content premieres
  • Build reports and analyses for both ongoing and ad-hoc needs, including Weekly Business Review meetings and monthly content performance reports presented to leadership
  • Regularly collaborate with cross-functional partner teams to build and execute project plans, augment their  understanding of how to achieve business goals, and build added layers of sophistication in reporting and analytics solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert of subscription and content data pipelines
  • Design and implement data models that support flexible querying and data visualization
  • Advance automation efforts that help the team spend less time manipulating & validating data and more time analyzing it
  • Contribute innovative ideas to the WBD Streaming Business Intelligence and Analytics team roadmap
  • Rapidly deliver on concepts through prototypes that can be presented for feedback

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Bachelor's degree or greater, ideally a in quantitative field of study (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, etc.)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, and/or data engineering, preferable in a media or subscription company
  • Proven track record in structuring and processing qualitative or quantitative data and drawing insightful conclusions and actionable recommendations from it
  • Proficiency in writing SQL (clean, fast code is a must), including experience in data mining and developing semantic data analytics layers in data warehouses
  • Advanced ability to build reports and dashboards with BI tools (such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI), significant experience with Looker a strong plus
  • Ability to scrutinize the quality of data, solve ambiguous problems and contribute thoughtful opinions
  • Experience in transforming flawed/changing data into consistent, trustworthy datasets
  • Ability to guide projects forward independently and manage multiple deliverables and time constraints simultaneously
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills and experience in communicating with stakeholders at multiple levels of a large organization
  • Business acumen and passion for the entertainment industry

Compensation range: $105,770.00 - $196,430.00 salary per year.
